A Night to Remember: Wigan YZ Charity Ball Raises Vital Funds
The Wigan YZ Charity Ball raised an incredible £60,000 to support young people at Wigan Youth Zone. The event, held at The Brick Community Stadium, was a night of celebration, entertainment, and fundraising success.
Hosted by Chris Milo, the night saw close to 300 supporters come together to raise vital funds. The money raised will help fund the Youth Zone’s wellbeing service, which provides essential support to young people across Wigan and Leigh. The event highlighted the importance of the charity in transforming young lives.
Guests arrived in style, walking down the red carpet while being greeted by our WYZ paparazzi, capturing special moments from the start. They were also welcomed with entertainment from our very own DJ Leo B, who set the tone for the night with an incredible set, creating the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable evening.
Celebrating Young Talent
The evening featured a spectacular Stars on the Rise competition, where young performers took to the stage. A huge congratulations to finalists Amelia and Keeley and the winner, Flynn, who wowed the audience with an unforgettable Freddie Mercury tribute. The night also featured performances from Wigan Youth Zone’s talented young people and WigLe Dance members.
Special thanks go to our panel of judges: Lee Dagliesh of The Heaton Group, Lauren Waterworth, and senior Youth Zone member Katie. Their support helped make the competition a memorable highlight of the evening.

We also extend our gratitude to Dasco Construction, Greenmount Projects, The Franchise Specialists, and RADCaT for their generous sponsorships.
Special thanks also go to raffle partners, Uncle Joe’s, as well as to Attain, GHE, Leisure Tec, and The Brick Community Stadium for their incredible support in the run up to and at the event.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Dominic Holden, our photographer for the night, who captured the evening perfectly and helped us preserve these incredible memories.
Supporting Young People in Wigan and Leigh
The funds raised at the Wigan Youth Zone Charity Ball will directly support ourwellbeing service. This service ensures that young people have a safe place to turn to in times of need. Alumni member Courtney shared her story on the night, explaining how the support she received at Wigan Youth Zone changed her life:
Courtney, Wigan Youth Zone Alumni said:
“It’s a provision that literally changed my life. I struggled with depression and anxiety, that was really scary to go through as a child, I didn’t feel like I had anywhere to go – so I ended up going to Wigan Youth Zone.”
“Wigan Youth Zone provides hope and opportunity for young people across the borough, especially at the darkest of times. The youth workers will always go above and beyond to make sure that young people are heard, understood, and supported through emotions that they may not know how to handle on their own.”
